[Guide] Native $ZIL Staking on Frontier

We are pleased to announce that $ZIL Staking is now LIVE on Frontier. Users can now seamlessly Store, Spend, Receive, and Stake $ZIL using Frontier Mobile interface.

Currently, $ZIL Staking is live on Android; iOS will be supported soon.

We'll divide the guide into two parts

  1. Creation of Zilliqa ($ZIL) Wallet
    1.0 Creating new Zilliqa Wallet
    1.1 Importing Zilliqa Wallet to Frontier
  2. Native Staking ZIL Tokens
    2.0 Staking/Delegating ZIL
    2.1 Un-Staking ZIL tokens
    2.2 Re-delegating ZIL Tokens

1. Creating new Zilliqa($ZIL) Wallet

Step – 1 Download Frontier
Frontier is compatible with Android devices and can be downloaded from Play Store.

Android – Play Store

Step – 2 Launch the App and Create Zilliqa ($ZIL) Wallet
Launch the App and Click on Proceed which takes you to the Wallet creation page and then Click on Create Multi-coin wallet and Set up your Frontier Pin.

Launch Frontier -> Proceed -> Create Multi-coin wallet -> Set up Frontier Pin

⚠️ NOTE: Please be advised that there is no way to recover your PIN if you lose it, Frontier does not store any user information.

Step – 3 Backup your 12 Word Seed phrases
After setting up the Frontier Pin, back-up 12 Word Seed Phrases.

⚠️ NOTE: Frontier never stores Seed Phrases and user information, in case of losing seed phrases. Frontier won't be able to recover the wallet. We Always recommend users to store their Seed phrases safely and securely where only they can access it.

We now have successfully created a Multi-Coin Wallet.

Step – 4 Access Zilliqa ($ZIL) Wallet

To Access your Zilliqa Wallet. Navigate to Menu -> Change Wallet -> Choose "Zilliqa" -> Select as Primary.

1.1 Importing Zilliqa ($ZIL) Wallet
If you already have Zilliqa Wallet, you can import to Frontier in following steps.

Click on Import Wallet -> Choose Zilliqa or Multicoin Wallet if you want to import multi-coin wallet -> Enter your Phrase/ Key-store/ Private key -> Click on Create Pin

You have successfully imported your Zilliqa Wallet to Frontier.

2. Native Staking on Frontier

After successfully creating Zilliqa Wallet, let's load-up the wallet with some $ZIL Tokens.

Click on Receive -> Copy the address or scan the QR Code -> Send $ZIL tokens to your Zilliqa Wallet.

2.0 Staking/Delegating $ZIL
Now that we have $ZIL Tokens in our Wallet It's time to put $ZIL tokens to work!

Click on "Stake" Option -> Click on Zilliqa card -> Select Validator -> Enter the ZIL tokens to stake -> Click on "Stake" -> Click "Confirm" on final screen.

😎Pro Feature: When entering the amount of $ZIL tokens to stake, you can see Estimated Returns when you stake your $ZIL tokens for 1 Day, 1 Week, 1 Year

2.1 Un-Staking ZIL Tokens
Staked $ZIL can be un-bounded from a validator but will be locked up for 14 days in order to be available for transfer.

Click on the "Stake" option from Menu -> Click on the Card under staked assets ---> Click on "Unstake" -> Enter the amount you wish to unstake -> Click on the button -> Enter Frontier Pin -> Successful un-bounding.

⚠️ NOTE: ZIL tokens will be available for transfer after 14 days of the un-bounding period. No Rewards will be generated during this un-bounding period.

2.2 Re-delegating ZIL Tokens

Users can re-delegate staked ZIL Tokens to other validators.

Asset Page -> Click on "Redelegate" -> Choose your delegations -> Choose the validator you want to redelegate -> Click on "Redelegate" -> Enter Pin -> Successfully redelegated.
